Chemo menopause

Hi. I’m 49F going through GCHOP for FL. My periods stopped after cycle 1 and I’m now in cycle 4. I’ve started getting hot flushes. This has led me to think about HRT post chemo. Although I am getting close to natural menopause age I was quite happy with my regular cycle. I’m interested in hearing others experiences around menopause brought on from treatment. Did your periods come back? Did you use HRT?

Really picky eater

Is it normal for a BC to be very picky? Our last non BC dog would wolf down food in 30 sec. Our BC is fussy to the point of being worried about her. However vet says she is fine.

CMR and Deauville of 2 on cycle 3 PET scan. Why am I not excited?

I don’t know what’s wrong with me. My PET report reads like a straight A student -masses wiped away, only thing left is a 1cm node that has a SUV well below my blood pool. Hematologist congratulated me and said I’m doing awesome. However I feel a bit dead emotionally. It’s like I’m waiting for some more bad news. How do I snap out of this funk? I have CMR and should be happy. I am happy. I think I’m just a bit scared.

Border Collie walk - is this a bunny hop?

A trainer pointed out my 8 month old border collies loose hips. She sploots a lot. I will get her checked by a vet. Now I have become paranoid about her walk and have posted some videos. Is she bunny hopping? I couldn’t let her off lead because she is currently in season.

How long have Blue Heelers / Aussie Cattle dogs been in the US?

Curious. Have blue heelers gotten more popular to have as pets in the US since Bluey? Or have they always been there? I thought they were and Aussie farm dog but more social feed seems full of reels of them in the US.

Another thing. The dog called the Aussie Shepherd. I don’t think that’s an Australian dog. Well I’ve never really seen them here. It looks like a border collie mixed with something else. Were they historically from Australia or are they like the Outback Steakhouse?

Edit - thank you for your responses they have been educational. I’m actually glad that the breeds have been in the US for a long time. In Australia a blue heeler is not really a common pet because their working dog temperament is well known.

High cholesterol during CHOP

My cholesterol has gone up to 6.6 which I’ve never had before. I understand that it is a side effect. Wondering about others experience with this. Does it go back down?

First day of GCHOP

I had hoped to have more than one year of WW but that was not meant to be. No waiting to start the G of GCHOP today. Not sure what to expect but am now keen to get started.

High SUV and diffuse bone marrow uptake in follicular lymphoma

Diagnosed in 2025 with low-grade follicular lymphoma after PET showed abdominal/retroperitoneal nodes only. Biopsy confirmed low-grade FL, Ki-67 around 20%. Managed with watch-and-wait.

Recent restaging PET showed interval progression: abdominal mesenteric/retroperitoneal disease, a mesenteric conglomerate around 5 cm with high SUV, small-volume mildly avid nodes above the diaphragm, no extranodal disease, no splenomegaly, and mild diffuse bone marrow uptake.

Bloods are mostly reassuring: normal haemoglobin, neutrophils, platelets, LDH and albumin, with only mild lymphopenia. No B symptoms. Back pain that prompted PET has resolved.

Had laparoscopic biopsy from the PET-active mesenteric conglomerate area. Provisional pathology says recurrent follicular lymphoma, no diffuse growth or necrosis; final stains pending. Bone marrow biopsy done because of PET marrow comments, results pending.

Haematologist has said likely bendamustine + obinutuzumab if follicular, or R-CHOP if transformed/too uncertain.

Interested in others’ experiences with:

  1. Mild diffuse marrow uptake on PET — was your marrow biopsy positive or negative?
  2. If marrow was positive, did it change treatment?
  3. Did anyone have high SUV but biopsy still showed follicular only?

Hi everyone,

I’m newly at the point of needing treatment for follicular lymphoma and would really value hearing real experiences.

My situation (in brief):
- 49F
- Previously on watch & wait
- Now have a ~5 cm abdominal lymph node mass
- SUV has increased (from 7 to around 20 on recent PET)
- Minimal symptoms (mainly some back pressure)
- Likely starting treatment soon (Bendamustine + Obinutuzumab has been suggested)

I’m trying to understand a few things from people who’ve actually been through this:

  1. If you had B&O or BR — how did you find it in reality (especially fatigue, infections, day-to-day life)?
  2. Did anyone start treatment with higher SUV like this but still indolent disease?
  3. If you had similar abdominal nodes — did symptoms improve quickly with treatment?
  4. How long was your first remission?

I’m not looking for worst-case scenarios — just honest, real-world experiences to help me make a grounded decision.

Thank you — I really appreciate anyone willing to share.
