Advice helping my avocado survive outdoors zone 8B!

This is my lovely avocado that I started from seed approximately 10 years ago. I can’t remember the exact variety I started it from but I’m pretty sure it was an organic Hass.

For the majority of her life, she’s been in a pot and outside for the spring/summer/fall, and hauled inside for the winter. I planted it outside this year, as it was simply getting too big for indoors in a pot! From the ground it’s about 7-8 feet tall, and 5 feet wide (she lost some height in an accident while moving outdoors). But appears very happy in her new in ground spot, as she’s starting to explode with new growth.

Where I live our winter lows are usually in the mid 30s, but can briefly drop to 15-20 degrees F, which I know is too cold for avocados. But she’s outside and I’m not digging her up, so please help me help my baby through the winter! I know I’ll need to cover the tree during cold snaps, but what’s the best way to do so? Focus on keeping the trunk warm? Try to cover branches too? Blankets? Burlap sacs? Specific materials that work best? Please help because I don’t want this winter to be my avocado trees last one!
