Engine swap help
Ok so I don’t know much about engines (basically anything at all and this is my first car) but I have a ’99 5th gen prelude base model and I need a new engine. Before anyone says something I will not be getting rid of the car as it has sentimental value. I guess someone drove it with little to no oil in it for some time and now there’s metal shavings in the oil hose or something and the pistons and where the pistons go is basically shredded. So I’m looking to do an engine swap but am not sure which to get or where to get one. And if I do get one what else would I need to buy? I’m trying to keep the original transmission as I don’t think there’s anything wrong with it so I was thinking just another H22 but then I saw people talking about OBD (not sure what that is) and about H23 engines? There are a couple preludes in junkyards near me that I’m pretty sure are kinda untouched and was thinking that maybe I could pull one out from there? let me know what you guys think please.
