I feel like I always have trouble backing up my notes. I've tried the SN partner app, it's always laggy and for some reason is never fully updated with all my current notes. I was backing up to Google drive for a while which worked (I would sync with google drive, I would then move all the notes to a separate folder to 'back up'). That took up a lot of space really fast so I scraped that. I'm generally not a huge cloud fan. Like yes its convenient to be able to access notes at any time but its so unreliable.

I'd like to just connect a usb drive/external hard drive to the manta directly and copy all my files over. I have a Sandisk 1tb usb-c drive that I attempted to connect with my manta, and while it did detect the drive, when I tried to copy over files it spent like half an hour 'copying' and my usb drive got super hot. When I tried to eject it my manta's screen went completely black and I had to restart, none of the files copied over. It was quite a scare.

I've been having some issues with my computer detecting my manta via usb connection (refer to this post) so I'm also having issues just connecting my manta to my computer and copying over all the files from it to an external hard drive. Any tips?

I tutor a lot of subjects— mainly all levels of math, SAT (RW & Math), Physics, as well as college application essay feedback/drafting. I’ve also started a newer “accountability/organizational coaching” where I help students put together calendars, to-do lists, teach them effective methods for studying/notetaking, and keep them accountable with their academics and extracurriculars.

It’s here where I’m genuinely having to coach the parents instead of the kids. The parents are almost always hoping their kid gets into some Ivy League school and basically micromanage the crap out of their kids’ lives. Imo it’s the reason why they’re seeking out this sort of coaching in the first place, cuz the kids never learned to take responsibility for themselves.

Ie, I have a 9th grader whose father has picked out classes for the next 4 years?? Another father who’s putting his kid into individual/outside of school tutoring for every single class they’re taking. Which I think is counterproductive and time-consuming.

How do I deal with this?

I usually transfer PDFs/readings between my Supernote manta and my computer via usb connection. I find the cloud stuff to be slow, buggy, and tedious. Recently though, I’ve been connecting my manta to my computer and my computer doesn’t detect it as a device anymore and so I can’t put files onto the manta. But I can see that the manta is registering the power connection at least since the green charging button always lights up. I’m wondering what happened and how I can fix this?

Edit: I have a windows. I tried to connect the manta with another windows and it does register the device. I’m not sure why it randomly stopped working on my computer. All my PDFs are on this computer.
