Hi, so I've been making decoden items for a while. I love them. But I wanted to try making my own decoden cream. I was told to use 100% silicone caulk and that's what I did tonight. My problem, it smells to high heaven. I have a dog I want to protect and of course my crafting room is a spare bedroom with a rather large window. But I'm still worried about my dog and my husband and about myself too. The decoden cream I've bought premade in the past never smelled like anything and I never had to worry about fumes. Are there any other options of items I can use that don't harm me or the other creatures in my home or ones that don't smell like I cleaned my room with vinegar?
