I went back and decided to process some of my old data. I took this set in Cherry Springs about a year ago. It was noticeably different processing this image compared to my new telescope, as this one is with a normal camera lens.

My first image with a telescope. It really is a huge upgrade from my camera lens, I’m incredibly happy with it. This is also my first time using Pixinsight so the processing I’m sure is not perfect but I’m excited to be learning more.

This is driving me crazy, recently the past couple times I’ve gone out shooting there is a distinct circle shadow in the center of my images. I’ve tried literally everything, redoing stacks, testing single images, stacking without calibration, with calibration, in DSS and siril. It’s always there and I cannot figure out why. I figure at this point I’ve ruled out software issues. I always shoot with a dew heater on my lens so I don’t think it’s that. It only started recently too. I’ve included pictures of what it looks like, both gradient removed and just stretched, singles and stacks. I’ve spent days testing and redoing every little thing. I’m convinced it’s related to my setup but I have zero clue what to even do to attempt fixing this issue. I’ve included an image I made prior to this issue that used the EXACT same processing technique as I’ve been using that has shown no issue. I also ruled out environmental factors I believe as two of these problematic sets of images were taken in different locations
I use a Nikon D750 and Nikon 200-500 f5.6 Lens
