Hi fellow laserists, I've recently purchased and received my first laser unit.

I'd like to ask if there are any tips/suggestions for me so that I can enjoy this hobby to the fullest in a safe manner.

I've already undertaken laser safety training from Roberta (Thanks Brad for recommending). I will be using a black material (felt?) on the termination zone to prevent scattering. I will also be following advice from this thread to prolong scanner lifespan.

Am I missing anything?
