Help identify some mystery character autographs from my 1990s Disneyland book!
Was going through some old childhood stuff and found my Disneyland autograph book from the early-to-mid 1990s!
It has 56 character signatures, and I’ve managed to identify almost all of them. There’s a pretty fun mix of classic Disney characters, Disney Afternoon favorites, and some characters you rarely see in the parks anymore.
Some highlights include Darkwing Duck, Launchpad McQuack, Don Karnage, Gadget Hackwrench, Baloo, Gideon, Foulfellow, and Br’er Bear and Br’er Fox.
My mom even kept a handwritten list of the characters we met, which has helped tremendously!
However, I’ve still got a few mysteries I’m hoping longtime Disneyland fans or autograph collectors can help solve:
1. “Becky” — My leading theory is Rebecca “Becky” Cunningham from TaleSpin, especially since I have Baloo and Don Karnage in the same book. Can anyone confirm whether she signed autographs as Becky?
2. “Your Pal, _____” — This one is driving me crazy. The signature looks something like “Poncho,” “Ponch,” or possibly “Panchito.” Does anyone recognize it?
3. Another difficult-to-read signature — I can’t make out the name at all.
4. A signature that looks like “Scooby” — Obviously Scooby-Doo isn’t Disney, so I’m wondering whether I’m misreading another character’s name.
Pretty cool finding this little piece of my childhood nearly 30 years later. Now I just want to solve the last few mysteries! 😂
