Do you agree that inequality is one of the most basic theme of Gundam?
I read a comment here that said what makes a Gundam feels like Gundam is it is a story about relationships.
That got me thinking that for me, what makes a Gundam feels like a Gundam story is it's a story about inequality.
Usually it's economic/political inequality (earthnoid vs spacenoid across all the different universe) or may even be "evolutionary" inequality (oldtype/natural/etc vs newtype/coordinator/etc).
Having that theme as the source of the conflict makes it feel more real, that there's actually a reason for the conflict other than just one side wants to attack to gain territory and resources.
Would love to hear what others think of my take. Do you agree? Or do you think there are themes that make Gundam feel Gundam for you?
