Got someone on Traderie offering me $40 for my MM2 items and they want to do a cross trade using a “trusted MM” from their Discord server.

The server is pretty big (like 20k+ members), but the trader’s account is BRAND new (created May 18, 2026) and they respond instantly every single time I message them. They also immediately pushed for moving to Discord and using a middleman instead of just keeping things on Traderie.

I’m kinda stuck because $40 is real money and I don’t want to lose my items. The whole setup just feels a bit off, especially with the new account + MM + cross trade combo. Am I overthinking it or would you guys skip this one? 😭

So I’m posting this because I honestly don’t know how to feel about the situation anymore and I want real opinions instead of people instantly picking sides.

A while ago, I scammed a girl in a game and took her items. I already know that was wrong, and I’m not trying to act innocent or pretend I did nothing bad. At the time I wasn’t thinking seriously about it, but after a few hours I started feeling guilty and realized I should give everything back.

So I messaged her again and offered to return all the items. I thought maybe if I gave everything back and apologized, the situation could at least end normally instead of becoming some huge drama.

But when we started talking again, she was really cold and disrespectful toward me. She kept threatening to report me and acted like I was some terrible person even while I was actively trying to fix what I did. I understood why she was angry because obviously nobody likes getting scammed, but the whole conversation felt super hostile no matter what I said.

Even so, I still returned everything because I knew it was the right thing to do. After I gave the items back, I apologized multiple times and asked if she could forgive me. I wasn’t expecting us to suddenly become friends or anything. I just wanted things to end peacefully after I tried to correct my mistake.

She ignored me and blocked me completely.

Now I genuinely don’t know how to feel. I know I caused the situation in the first place, and I accept that part. But at the same time, I did return everything and tried to apologize sincerely. Getting blocked after trying to make things right just left me feeling confused and guilty at the same time.

So was I still fully in the wrong even after returning everything and apologizing, or did both of us handle the situation badly by the end?
