RV inspection contingency killing deals

I’ve had two deals fall through due to my request for an RV inspector that I hired.

On Wednesday my offer was accepted. They asked when are you coming in to close the deal and I said that I have to order an inspector. The dealer said that they charge $220 p/hr for the time the inspector is there.

My prior failed inspection took five hours so I wasn’t comfortable possibly paying $1,000 on top of the inspector fee so I walked.

Then today when bargaining with another dealer it seemed like a done deal until i mentioned sending my inspector and the deal unraveled.

I know I definitely don’t want to buy a used RV without an inspection. Is this normal in the RV industry?

Is 68,000 miles on the Sprinter/Mercedes 3.0L V-6 considered high for an RV?

I know is usually considered ok to for diesels to have higher mileage, but this is an RV.

Should I not worry about the mileage and focus instead on the condition of the house part and the maintenance records of the chassis?

TL;DR Is 68k considered high on a Sprinter/Mercedes 3.0L V-6 turbo diesel?

What’s quieter?: Ford V10 or a Ford 6.0 power stroke diesel

I found an RV I like and the engine has been bulletproofed with ARP headstuds, upgraded egr cooler, and upgraded oil cooler.

How loud is the diesel? Would i start to go crazy from the diesel chatter after a while, or is not a big deal?
