Hello, I am a domestic applicant, and I completed my second interview on Wednesday. Both the English and Japanese portions of the interview went well.
I’m just curious if anyone else who was successfully hired could share the timeline of their experience.
Also, since I applied in May, what are the chances of obtaining a position this year? I’m assuming around September?
I am starting a job at Altia Central soon and was wondering how a ALT would be able to pass practical portions of the certification. From my knowledge I would need to film my lessons but wouldn’t that be a privacy concern for plenty of Japanese schools?
I recently switched My MBA with a concentration in HR to a general MBA with no concentration at the same university.
Might be important to note that I haven’t even started classes yet, they start in July so I’m just making sure that I have everything set in place correctly.
Professional Background: 9 years in the Navy working in naval medicine (shipboard medicine, family medicine, and labor and delivery) before I decided to quit and pursue education.
I have the following degrees:
1. BA in Psych
2. MBA
3. MA in International Affairs
4. MA in Special Education, BCBA certified
I start my job as an ALT in September. I know ALT isn’t the best job but for me, It’s the best option as I been out of work since 2023 due to my back-to-back degrees. Based off my education background, what can I do to set myself up for success in Japan long term besides N1? I would love to hear from those who have a similar educational background.
