Why does NCERT keep interchanging Net Assets and Capital Employed?

I was reading accounting ratios chapter for project and net assets and capital employed are always mentioned together with one in brackets. Why is that when the two are calculated differently and give different values even in the examples mentioned?

I was planning on making acc project on comparative & common size statements and ratio analysis but everywhere I look online, every project is ratio analysis and cash flow. Are those 2 the best or just the easiest? Also, if someone can give context on what segment analysis even is then that would be nice
