My PRK experience ( on day 7 currently)

I had astigmatism 2.5 right 1.5 left

with a very low myopia

I was scared from reading all the stories in here and was prepared to face the pain in the first days

It was actually a breeze for me and i would describe it as discomforting more than pain

Day 0

A quick surgery with no pain

Vision improved instantly after the procedure

But it was kinda foggy

No pain and very mild discomfort for the rest of the day

Day 1

It was hard to keep my eyes open more than 10 seconds and there is mild pain after waking and immediately gone after using drops

A very mild pain

Spent the whole day listening to podcasts in dark room

Day 2

Light sensitivity kicked in and the same as day one

Day 3

Still moderate light sensitivity and a little pain after waking up

I woke up in the middle of sleep with a very sharp pain out of no where in both eyes

Immediately lubricate and it's gone and went back to sleep

Day 4

Most discomfort is gone

A little improment in sight

Day 5

The day of removing the BCL

It was the worst day vision wise

After removing the BCL the vision became very very blurry to the point i almost regretted getting the surgery lol

And a mild pain after bliniking and it feels there is sand in my eyes

Vision becomes clear and good immediately after using drops and goes back to blurriness after seconds

I can't even use my phone

Day 6&7

I'd say vision improved a bit

Becomes almost very clear after drops for 20 seconds and goes back to blurry after blinking

My advice is stick to the drops schedule and keep lubricating with the lubricanting drops

I would never describe the experience is painful at all, i would describe it as discomforting and boring since u can't use the phone from the blurriness especially for the first 2 days

The brief clarity in vision on day 7 after using drops makes me very happy

It's like a trailer of my vision after fully recovering

I wanted to share the experience since i have read a lot of journeys in here
