Vermont falconry
Hello all,
I'm located in North Western Vermont. I've been interested in falconry for a while and have been consuming as many books and articles as I can on it. I'm at a point where I'd like to meet a falconer locally and get some "hands on" (although I'm not expecting to hold anyone's birds) experience. Mainly I'd like to see some mews in person to get an idea of what I can make work on my property, talk about the reality of hawking in our area, and have the ability to ask questions. I'd be thrilled to just watch some training and shadow someone on a hunt. I'm not expecting someone to want to sponsor right off the bat, I understand this to be a huge commitment.
I've reached out to VTFW, haven't heard back. I checked out NAFX and found a user who appears to be in my area although I can't get the registration to work to try to contact them through an appropriate channel.
Any advice? Where do I go from here?
Thanks!
