I’ve seen a couple of accounts I know get hacked recently (might be coincidence, but still a good reminder). Here’s a short PSA on protecting your accounts:

• Use unique, strong passwords (a password manager helps a lot)
• Turn on 2FA everywhere you can — prefer an authenticator app over SMS
• Watch out for phishing: don’t click suspicious links, go directly to the site instead
• Keep your devices and browsers updated
• Regularly check active sessions and connected apps, and revoke anything unknown
• Set up recovery options and login alerts

If an account gets compromised, change the password right away from a clean device, revoke all sessions, and enable 2FA if it wasn’t on.Stay safe — a few minutes of setup can save a lot of headaches later.

We recently removed a post suggesting alternate apps or sites to watch the Gray Hughes Investigates channel in order to avoid counting as a view.

We will not host or encourage content that promotes violating YouTube’s Terms of Service or attempting to deprive a creator of legitimate views/income. If you don’t want to contribute to someone’s view count, the simple and legitimate option is to not watch the channel. That’s it.

Separately: Gray has mentioned receiving an email referencing his deceased brother. That kind of contact is completely unacceptable. We have no reason to believe it came from anyone in this community, but we want to be clear that anyone who contacts Gray in that way is not welcome here.
