Hello, we are building https://www.fixxi.ae, a one-stop shop for homeowners to find vetted contractors and for contractors to find leads. We would like your help ironing out all the details so we can provide a seamless experience for everyone!
Like many of you, we’ve been incredibly frustrated with the home maintenance experience in the UAE. Getting a quote usually means handing out your phone number, repeating your address to five different contractors, and dealing with spam calls for weeks just to fix a kitchen tap or paint a room.
We wanted something better, so we’re building Fixxi (https://www.fixxi.ae). Our goal is to shift the power back to homeowners while keeping things fair and streamlined for genuine local businesses.
Here is how we’re doing it differently:
- 1. Privacy First: Pros can only see your general area/neighborhood when they bid. Your phone number and exact street address are completely hidden. Contractors only get your contact details after you review their bid and officially hire them.
- 2. Side-by-Side Comparisons: No more endless WhatsApp negotiation. Contractors submit fixed bids with their price and scope so you can compare them instantly on a single dashboard.
- 3. Verified Only: To protect users, every single contractor must have a valid UAE trade license verified by us before they can even look at your jobs.
- 4. 100% Free Marketplace: No listing fees for homeowners, and zero lead, subscription, or commission fees for contractors. It is a completely free, open market for everyone.
The concept is a pure, free-market bidding engine: Homeowners post a project (anything from a bathroom renovation to fixing a central AC unit), vetted contractors submit competing bids, and the consumer chooses the offer that matches their budget, timeline, and rating. Total transparency, full power to the consumer, and an open market for businesses to win work.
We are fine-tuning the platform engine and onboarding process right now, and we would love this community's help in providing valuable feedback, so we can craft a seamless experience for everyone!
For Contractors & Fit-Out/Maintenance Businesses:
- How do you feel about a live bidding model? Do you prefer competing transparently on price/reputation, or do you worry it leads to a "race to the bottom"?
- What features would you need in a bidding dashboard to make it worth your time to actively pitch for jobs on the platform?
- Is requiring a Trade License, TRN, and Emirates ID a fair vetting standard to keep the marketplace high-quality and free of unlicensed operators undercutting you?
For Homeowners:
- Would you use a platform where you can post a job once and watch multiple contractors submit competing bids for it?
- What matters more to you when choosing a bid: the absolute lowest price, the contractor's verified reviews, or how fast they can get the job done?
- What would give you the most peace of mind when accepting a blind bid online?
