How did you move to Vienna in an unconventional way?

I’m curious about stories from people who moved to Vienna without following the typical route of securing a job and an apartment beforehand.
Did anyone move to Vienna first and figure things out later? For example: • Moving without a job lined up • Renting a room in a shared flat (WG) instead of getting your own apartment • Living off savings while job hunting • Starting with temporary or part-time work • Moving for personal reasons and finding work later • Any other unconventional path
I’m especially interested in hearing from people who arrived without employment and moved into a shared apartment with roommates. How did it work out? How much money did you have saved? How difficult was it to find a job and handle the bureaucracy?
