I want to switch but don't know if I can

After google's latest bullshit push at google io, namely forcing gemini even further up my ass as a pixel user, I want to get out. I have already de-googled everything I can up to this point; I use immich in place of google photos, I self host an email server that forwards everything from gmail so I don't have to touch google services with a 10 foot pole, and I even threw up a gitea instance to get away from microslop. There should be nothing preventing me from deleting google from my life, but there still is.

I'm in the uk, and as far as I know, the HSBC app works on gos, but that's really what I wanted to check. I'm also under the age limit to make a curve pay account, and I'm not sending my passport to their fucking servers either. I don't want to nuke my phone just to check if the HSBC app works, so I was hoping that someone on here would be able to tell me what the state of tap to pay and banking apps in general is. I know the HSBC app is especially fickle, refusing to open if I have certain nova launcher settings enabled, and I know that nfc doesn't work with google wallet on gos because it needs access to all of my sms messages, which kind of defeats the point of switching in the first place. Is there currently a good alternative? Or will I just have to resort to carrying a card around with me instead?

Thanks
