Storm King sprite teaser. Will there actually be something for STW in the upcoming update v42.0?

Storm King sprite teaser. Will there actually be something for STW in the upcoming update v42.0?
Any chance STW actually gets something meaningful this update? Or is it for later this year, say November/December? Would definitely be good to have some kind of timeline for us to expect a big update.
Epic is apparently recruiting for LEGO Fortnite and I'm loving the job descriptions. They sound so promising.
Here are some descriptions from the respective slides:
Epic Games is looking for a Technical Game Director to lead a multi-platform systems design effort using Unreal Engine’s capabilities to bring LEGO gameplay to life.
Epic Games is looking for a Gameplay Designer to help create compelling gameplay experiences across combat, progression, systems, moment-to-moment mechanics, and live gameplay content for our collaboration with LEGO.
We are taking LEGO Fortnite to the next level with continuous live improvements and additions. We are looking for a Senior Producer to join us on the LEGO Fortnite production team and be responsible for partnering with an initiative leader to deliver fun, high-quality live content.
We are taking LEGO Fortnite to the next level with continuous live improvements and additions. As a Gameplay Programmer Intern, you will contribute to the development of core gameplay features for our updates and get hands-on experience working alongside other programmers, designers, and artists.
I'd love to see an extraction zone with significantly larger maps and PvPvE enabled. The sprites in BR make me believe something similar would look great in STW and the need for something new in the game is also real.
Considering this is one of the most recent teasers, I would hope this includes some content as well for Odyssey. BR is having this gaming legends season on the way and I'd love to have characters from Sonic, Megaman or Kingdom Hearts in my settlements. Not only that, but also map changes for new POIs. Please and thank 🙏🏿
Perhaps this was the plan all along? 👀👀👀
Looks like the LEGO Pass has been extended by 2 months, but without any (proper) communication. Although I personally don't mind the dev team taking more time to polish the next content update even more, it would be great if we received some comms regarding this rather than just noticing it or finding it out.
Whatever the case may be, we are waiting with high expectations. Don't let us down. Cook us something nice!
Hi dev team, hope the summer is going well. This post is simply to make a suggestion with regards to managing resources within settlements. I chose to call it settlements, in case there's a change in the future where we start by claiming a plot for camps, to villages and further evolving into a city or town.
Odyssey could use features where residents pick up or gather everything within the settlement's bounds and put them into chests. The chests could also be individually set to only accept certain items/materials. This would further facilitate managing materials. One of the jobs of residents currently is already "gathering resources". This could therefore be the job of said resident, whose priority would be resources laying around the settlement's bounds.
If you guys are already working on this, great. If not, you might as well take it into consideration.
Y'all are always welcome to join our convos.
We might get new prefabs for the vehicle parts we have been receiving from the Machinist. There will be some bug fixes too and adjustments. Looking forward to reading the patch-notes.
Maybe this update will bring some Spider-Man content into Odyssey? We'll have to wait and see.
To any who didn't receive the pop-up where you could claim the reward, have you now received said pop-up? I just logged in to check and still didn't get pop-ups and my updates tab is empty. I reported the issue in-game yesterday and here, as well.
This isn't a new bug, but I believe it needs attention.
If you're a guest in a world (even with a key to said world) you often don't get the guided builds when collecting rewards. This time going afterwards into your own world to claim the reward doesn't fix this issue, unfortunately.
Three unrelated visitors at the same time. If this is intentional, we welcome this change.
Who else is ready to see what's coming? I know I am. Can't wait to see what the machinist has to offer. Let's dive in! 🏊♂️🏊♂️🏊♂️
I was really interested in the raw numbers and how Odyssey was doing in that regard, so I decided to share for whoever might find staring at numbers (even just a little bit) interesting.
The second slide shows the player count right now, the 24-hour peak and the all-time peak.
On the last slide one can see the player retention stats, which are limited to one year. An interesting stat, I'd say.
It will take a whole lot for Odyssey to get back to even a quarter of its all-time peak, but I really want to see it happen and perhaps even record a new peak, say perhaps by the end of next year, after Fortnite has finished switching to UE6. That's hoping the switch comes with a lot more positives than negatives.
Let me know what y'all think.
In a previous "What if..."entry, I laid out what I felt the devs could use as inspiration from the most successful MMOs. Inspiration can be drawn from vastly different genres, as well as very similar ones. Back in Chapter 1, no one expected all the different possibilities and cross-overs. Now we can boost vehicles using nitro and race each other, just as one would in Need For Speed or extract (rare) sprites, in a similar manner like in Arc Raiders, but all that amidst a BR match with Disney and Mortal Kombat skins.
What if Odyssey**:**
- had public servers with larger numbers per server/world and massive wars, player politics, economy simulation and corporations/alliances similar to EVE Online (Regarded by many as one of the deepest MMOs ever made)?
- had an addictive long-term progression, huge nostalgia/community and very deep economy similar to Old School RuneScape (A legendary progression MMO focused on: skills, grinding, economy and freedom)?
- looked at Black Desert Online (Famous for: extremely fluid combat, visuals and life-skilling systems) for arguably the best MMO combat system, beautiful world and deep professions/economy?
- took a look at the tribe systems, persistent servers, survival progression and large multiplayer communities in ARK: Survival Evolved?
- introduced more highly dynamic social gameplay and intense player-driven experiences similar to Rust (A social survival sandbox focused on: player interaction, PvP, raiding and emergent stories) and Guild Wars 2?
Learning from those, adapting it to fit the Lego Fortnite experience and making sure that what counts as weaknesses on the mentioned franchises are not carried over. Imagine if Odyssey pulled that off...
Only a matter of time until we find out what the devs are cooking. As of now we know they're adding the finishing touches to animal mounts/riding.
We also know (via the LEGO live stream) that they're working on new vehicle updates.
There's probably so much more we didn't catch yet and more teasers on the way. 👀
Feed them a treat and hop on their back. Works just as in BR and STW.
Devs are cooking on the low!
We want to see this level of live events in Odyssey. This was legit insane! This level of lore is sick! Odyssey absolutely needs it.
There are new Lego Fortnite sets with digital content included.
In my now removed-by-mods previous post, I tried to make a point that we should definitely not be toxic and trolls. Now I just want to appreciate the devs who over the last few months have been very consistent.
We have received so much content in the last few months: Ninjago, Special Visitors, Weekly Events, Star Wars, balance changes and a lot more (This doesn't mean there aren't any bugs or issues). Considering they're still working hard in the background even though we might not be aware of the process, it leaves me excited for the state of the game and its future.
We truly appreciate all the great work that has been done recently and all the work that's being done in the background. Thank you, Lego Fortnite dev team for your hard work and consistency. We're on this journey of bricks together to create the best game in the world.
We're eager to see what else you guys are cooking! (June schedule? 👀)
The second slide shows what happens when a community doesn't know restraint and forgets to treat their devs as fellow hardworking humans.
Although I don't do any tweeting, I see how much effort the senior director and other devs put in when engaging the community. They even had a community day recently.
All it took to vilify and attack the devs was one post/teaser people didn't like. There are several ways of voicing discontent without being vile. People can still be respectful while voicing their opinions about what they think is wrong. Attacking people on a personal level is really not the way.
I hope the Lego Fortnite community is better at regulating their emotions and expressing discontent. At least moving forward, we can shape our community to show more grace.
