I know a lot of people will be against what I say , It's your opinion and i wont say anything about it unless you wanna debate about it. its honestly so exhausting how a literal psychological horror masterpiece like DDLC got completely hijacked by its own fanbase. Dan Salvato wrote one of the best visual novel/dating sims that talks about mental health, but if you look at the community today, it’s just a sea of "gooners" and people who clearly haven't even touched the actual game. They've reduced this incredibly clever fourth-wall-breaking art piece into generic, hyper-sexualized waifu bait which is wild, because the game is explicitly making fun of that exact mindset. It’s just sad, you want to have a real conversation about how incredible the game actually is (or other things about the game itself), but instead, you're just drowning in surface-level memes and horniness from people who only know the game through TikTok clips. A masterpiece like doki doki deserves so much better than that.
