I still don't believe this case is real...

No, it's not because I don't believe David is guilty, but... God

I still can't believe the brutality of this case. I started following it as soon as the news broke; I wasn't even listening to D4VD back then.

But it breaks my heart to see photos of Celeste, of how she was with David and the dates. I feel horrible thinking that, from 2023 to 2024, a poor girl went through hell just for believing she was with the "right person."

“Could it have been prevented?”

I remember seeing that her brother tried to report him (David) to the police, but they allegedly refused to take the report. Also, some of David’s ex-victims supposedly wanted to report him too, but they were told that the police “weren’t handling those types of cases.”

What I’m trying to understand with all of this is: could this have been prevented? Could she have been saved in time? Why weren’t those reports taken seriously?

I’m asking because I’m from Argentina, so I don’t really know how the law works in the United States. Could someone explain it to me?

“You're special David“

Note: I’m a Spanish speaker, so I’m using a translator to post this. If there are any mistakes, I apologize.

This phrase has been stuck in my head, and I really wanted to share this opinion with you all…

Honestly, it’s already very clear that Celeste was deeply in love with him. And who wouldn’t be? I say this because she was younger — at that age, we don’t really understand what love truly is. He knew that. He used it to his advantage: the gifts, the promises, the “music.” He made her feel special. She was in love with him. BUT for him, it was only an obsession.

Making her tattoo his name, the “shh” on her finger, and the ring — those were all “promises” that he would stay with her forever. I also remember hearing somewhere that he once said he wanted to stay in the music industry for a few years and then disappear completely (I don’t remember where I heard that, so take it with caution).

His songs make it obvious to me that the relationship was already broken. Arguments because of their differences. Celeste loved him, so of course she would fight for it. But after hearing that audio about the “red string theory,” I realized he didn’t even care about their relationship anymore. (Something that was also obvious with the leaked chats.)

“We only have sex.”

Even though Celeste was younger, she honestly seemed more mature than that pathetic man, David. In the audio where she asks him why he no longer held her hand, he sounds irritated, like this wasn’t the first time she brought it up. Celeste keeps trying to communicate, and when she says “period,” he mocks her: “Ewww, I hate when you say that.” She tries to talk things out, and he either changes the subject or turns it into a joke. He didn’t care at all, while Celeste was clearly suffering because of it.

I also remember a Discord screenshot where someone claimed they talked to Celeste after she got drunk following an argument with David.

About the title, “You’re special, David,” I feel like David only cared about the validation she gave him. But when she was the one struggling, he suddenly stopped caring. It was manipulation, obviously.

In the song “Celeste,” there’s a line that says:

“I love when you hug me while you cry.”

He used her. He knew she was easier to manipulate in that emotional state, and honestly, who knows how many things he took advantage of when she was vulnerable like that…

When he called her that April month — the same month he killed her — I don’t doubt he convinced her they could “fix” things. That part breaks me. The trip was barely an hour at most, and she never stopped or told someone she trusted. She just kept going because she loved him and trusted him…

He gave her the illusion of a “safe place” and destroyed her however he wanted.

I just hope he pays for what he did.

Edit: I corrected a dramatic error, as it put "I" instead of "They," I apologize, I used a translator because I am not an English speaker, sorry!

I recently thought about this, which has one good point and several bad ones.

The good: Celeste would be alive.

The bad: Honestly, if she had gone public, I wonder, would they really have believed her? Because, at this point, there are still people defending David. They would have called her an opportunist/envious person, and most likely, and disgustingly, David would have taken this to court or only given vague explanations about what happened. In cases like these, the victim gets little visibility or no support. It would have been powerless for her to see her abuser get away with it because he's a "public" figure. Since, sadly, most cases require a horrible event (in this case, the victim's death) to be seen. Given this, do you really think the police would have paid attention to this case? Anyway, David is a jerk. He didn't delete evidence (and I'm glad about that). Perhaps we would have seen more if she had gone public with him?

Hi, I should mention that I'm not an English speaker, so please excuse me for using a translator.

Okay, I have a question, and it's about "witnesses." Will those close to David testify? (Either for or against, the latter being more likely). He spoke about his inner circle; it was obvious that Celeste went to his concerts and was backstage, which makes me wonder about David's entire group. Aren't you going to tell me that "no one" saw her? Or at least questioned who she was? I imagine that with the case being closed, the other members must have wondered about it. Or am I wrong? Also, I want to talk about Celeste Herrera. I haven't seen her mentioned much. (I really don't know anything about David; I only know that he's a murderer, period. I was never interested in his music.) Do you know why their friendship started? Or if she knew that she was only being used to "hide" David's true relationship, since he dressed her the same as Celeste? It gives me the creeps.

I apologize if this is a silly question and for my poor use of English.
