Should I post my full valedictorian speech as my first LinkedIn post, or is that too much?
I just graduated high school as valedictorian and finally decided to make a LinkedIn account over the summer. I'm basically starting from scratch and building my profile before university.
For my first post, I was thinking of sharing my 3-minute valedictorian speech. It just recorded from the audience. The camera is zoomed in on me the whole time, so the quality is decent but definitely not cinematic.
The speech starts with a strong opening, and it's exactly 3 minutes long.
I was also thinking of adding one graduation photo of me after the ceremony and keeping the caption short.
My question is: would you actually post the full speech, or would you trim it down. I don't want my first LinkedIn post to come across as self-congratulatory or like I'm trying too hard. I also don't want to cut it if the full speech is the better way to show communication skills.
Curious what people who actually use LinkedIn think.
