Zabbix 8.0 RC1 is here

Here's the short version of what it means for you:

  • See your whole stack in one place: application performance monitoring and OpenTelemetry bring traces, logs, and metrics together with your infrastructure data.
  • Get fewer, smarter alerts: complex event processing helps with correlation, root cause detection, and noise reduction.
  • Nice touches: ad-hoc maintenance, proxy permissions, and a new dark blue theme.

The final 8.0 LTS isn't far off, so RC1 is a great chance to try it out early.

Zabbix Summit 2026 – Oct 7-9, Riga. Full agenda is out, tickets close Sep 23, and we have two Lightning Talk slots still open.

Hey. Summit is one month out. Here's what's on, what's new, and a quick heads-up if you want to get on stage.

What to expect

Zabbix 8.0 LTS is the central theme this year – observability, OpenTelemetry, APM, complex event processing, AI tooling. Most sessions connect back to it in some way, but the agenda goes well beyond the release itself.

The tracks

Main track – keynotes, product sessions, use cases, and business talks. Sessions cover everything from AIOps automation with Ansible and Red Hat, to enterprise security, MSP architectures, SLA monitoring, and some genuinely unexpected use cases (monitoring concrete drying and Legionella risk in buildings using embedded sensors – yes, really).

Solutions track (new this year) – practical how-to sessions: HA with PostgreSQL and Patroni, Kubernetes, Proxmox/VMware/HyperV/Nutanix, ClickHouse for history storage, Zabbix diagnostics.

Dev track – build your own widget, write agent 2 plugins, develop templates, rebuild the frontend from scratch. Sessions run by Zabbix engineers.

Community track – open discussions on templates, the Zabbix Marketplace, and the Zabbix Book breakout room. More conversation than presentation.

A few sessions worth flagging specifically

  • Dylan Beattie is back – "The Curious Incident of the Log in the Downtime". If you missed him in 2025, fix that.
  • Kristaps Blumbergs (VIRAC) – monitoring radio astronomy systems. Actual space infrastructure.
  • Karel Bělunek – deep OS and app insight via eBPF. For catching the issues traditional monitoring misses entirely.
  • Marko Väätänen, Toyota Gazoo Racing – monitoring PLM systems in rally car manufacturing.

Workshops and exams

  • Workshops are free for all attendees – hands-on sessions on CEP, ClickHouse tuning, flexible discovery, automated NOC. Bring a laptop.
  • Certification exams and Zabbix training (including Upgrade to 8.0 LTS) are on-site at 50% off.

Got a weird Zabbix story to tell?

We have two Lightning Talk slots left – 5 minutes on the main stage. Unexpected use cases, geeky hacks, anything monitoring-adjacent that people would appreciate. If selected, you present at Summit and your conference pass is on us. Send a short proposal to summit@zabbix.com.

Tickets close September 23.

Live Webinars | Distributed Monitoring & Windows Server Monitoring

We're going live already next week with the 'Distributed Monitoring with Zabbix' webinar on June 11 at 10 AM CDT. The session dives into distributed monitoring with Zabbix proxies – how to keep visibility across remote sites, centralize monitoring, and avoid losing data even when connectivity isn’t perfect.

The next webinar on June 18, focuses on Windows Server monitoring with Zabbix, from performance metrics and system events to spotting issues early enough to fix them before users start noticing.

Both sessions are practical, free to attend, and built around situations most IT teams eventually run into one way or another. Sign up now.
