Looking for a little guidance before I make a decision, earlier this year I met with a contractor to have a patio installed at my house. He gave me a quote that appeared to be generated from Quickbooks via email and said if I approved it he'd schedule me to start May 11th. The approval was given via email, nothing has been signed and no deposits paid. May 11th has come and gone and work has yet to start and I can't get a response on when to expect it to.

As nothing has been signed if I tell him I'm no longer interested am I on the hook financially?
