Question about 16 GB vs 32 GB RAM

Hello everyone, I know this question has been asked many times, but I've just got a few questions about people who've either owned both, or either one. I'm looking to upgrade from my Lenovo Legion Y540, specced as follows:

i7 9750H, 1660 ti with 16 GB of RAM

I've searched throughout my region as thoroughly as possible, and narrowed it down to one spec. I'm afraid the price jump between 16 and 32 GB RAM is far too large for me to justify. (Over 500 USD)

Is the G16 specced with the 5070, 16 GB of RAM and the Ultra 9 285H a good pick, that'll last me for the time being, and more importantly for the future? I've owned the Lenovo since 2021, and since then it's been perfect but has been starting to show its age.

My usage varies, I don't play many AAA games, but on the occasion I do, I'm perfectly fine with either having it connected to a 1080p monitor or scaling down the resolution to help accommodate the VRAM. I'm also a recent graduate, but I don't plan on using it for running AI locally, nor do I plan on using it for video editing or anything of the sort. It'll mostly be used for light to medium browsing and data editing and analysis. I'll also game on it as mentioned.

I'd really appreciate some insight and opinions on this from this sub. Thank you in advance.
