Howard for Biglaw?
Hey everyone, I’m a college senior with a 3.81 GPA and 161 LSAT. I’m considering Howard Law and trying to gauge BigLaw prospects.
If I’m BigLaw or bust, is Howard worth it, or should I take a gap year, retake the LSAT, and aim for a higher-ranked school with stronger BigLaw placement?
For context, I graduated high school with an associate degree, so I’m 19 turning 20 and not in a rush if a gap year would meaningfully improve my options.
Would you apply to Howard now, or wait and try to improve my LSAT for better outcomes?
Update: Thank you all for the advice so far! Also, LSAC just changed how GPAs are calculated for this cycle back to including dual-enrollment grades, so my LSAC GPA is actually a 3.91 instead of a 3.81. If I wait until next cycle, my GPA will likely be lower unless I get all A’s this year.
