Driving around my neighborhood, I live in the Midwest. I often see garage doors that are only semi cracked open like the garage door is 6-10inches lifted. Maybe a foot. Is it just coincidence? Or is that something that people do to help keep the garage cool, am I missing out on some cool house hack?

My house needs windows. The are the original ones to the home and are about 25 years old. I recently did some other home maintenence so the piggy bank is a little low. Has anyone done those new window programs? Or are they all scammy? The ones where you can finance the windows etc. I was honestly thinking of just getting a personal loan through my credit union like I would purchasing a car.
