Help picking out a haze effect for my game room?

Help picking out a haze effect for my game room?

I have a game room which sometimes is used for karaoke parties. I have some simple lighting effects, but I really need haze to make them look their best, and I am not sure what to get.

I have tried a cheap Chauvet 700W fogger with Halloween store fog juice and the effect was pretty poor. I didn't expect much, but it's what I had on hand.

The room is about 3100 cu ft, and half of it is filled with arcade games, so whatever kind of haze fluid I get has to be pretty benign with regard to residue... But I am also doing this a few times a year, not every weekend.

(When the weather is good we often set up an outside stage, and haze would be great there... But I reckon it's impossible to haze the great outdoors, at least under any kind of a budget!)

Thanks a bunch if you can give me any leads!

EDIT TO ADD

Thanks for everyone's input!

To solve my haze problem I am considering getting a Froggy's Fobbles F5 fog/haze/bubble machine.

My thinking:

  • My antique Chauvet Hurricane 700W is barely working, the output is pathetic despite cleaning. If I can get away with a better fog fluid for haze, like Froggy's Techno Fog, I'd benefit from a new machine anyway.
  • The F5 is a 10,000 CFM, 1000W fogger with full DMX control... It's 3x the output of my tired old Chauvet even if it's working perfectly. Plus, all its other fun features.
  • The F5 has a haze function (meaning, fog plus fan)
  • So, if Froggy's Techno Fog fluid is going to provide decent haze hangtime, this unit gives me haze plus a really nice fog upgrade with a fluid change.
  • Bubbles and fobbles and RGB lighting will be nice for some of my outdoor stuff, too. Bubbles are not the main attraction here, it's a 1000W DMX fogger for less than the cost of one of their Titan machines.

It seems to come down to this...

If Froggy's Techno Fog will provide a decent haze effect, then a fog machine upgrade makes sense, and the F5 gives me flexible indoor/outdoor effects. But if I really do need a hazer, so be it.

To find out, I guess I should try Techno Fog in the old Chauvet. Even if it runs slowly it should let me see if Techno Fog will do the job in my indoor space. If it lets me get by, cool, and I can consider a fogger upgrade when I wish. If not, hazer here I come.
