Arraial do Cabo as a day trip from Rio — party atmosphere or peaceful nature?

Hi everyone! 👋

My partner and I will be visiting Rio and we're looking for a day trip outside the city. We've been researching the islands and beaches around Rio, and Arraial do Cabo keeps coming up because of its beautiful water, beaches and boat tours.

However, I was told that Arraial can have a very party-oriented atmosphere, with lots of young partygoers and noisy/crowded tours. We're not really interested in partying or nightlife. We prefer beautiful scenery, nature, swimming/snorkelling, relaxing and enjoying the experience without feeling rushed or surrounded by huge crowds.

For those who have actually visited Arraial do Cabo:

  • How crowded are the boat tours?
  • Is it worth doing as a day trip from Rio, or would you recommend somewhere else?
  • Would you recommend Arraial for a couple looking for a more relaxed experience?

We're considering Arraial because the scenery looks incredible, but we don't want to spend most of the day in a crowded party boat or bus.

Thanks in advance!

Is Quiosque Samba Social Club in Copacabana worth visiting?

My partner and I will be in Rio de Janeiro for about two weeks, and we’re looking for authentic places to enjoy live samba.

We came across Quiosque Samba Social Club on Copacabana Beach, and it looks like a fun spot. We’d love to hear from people who have actually been there.

Is the live samba good and authentic?

What’s the atmosphere like—more locals or tourists?

Is the food and the caipirinhas worth it, or should we just go for the music?

What days and times are the best to visit?

Is it generally safe to stay there in the evening and take an Uber back to our hotel?

We’re staying in Copacabana, so any similar samba recommendations nearby would also be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!
