Vawa trough LPR

Does anyone know of an attorney who handles cases in different states? I’m currently in Oregon and I have an attorney, but the communication hasn’t been the best. I initially paid $2,500 for my VAWA case, and now the attorney is asking for another $5,000. I handled all the translations from Spanish to English myself. At this point, I’m looking for a second opinion about my case. I’ve already spoken with two other attorneys, and one charges $8,500 while the other charges $10,000. My case is legitimate, and I’m looking for an experienced VAWA attorney who can review my case and give me a second opinion, preferably at a more reasonable price. If anyone knows of a good attorney who handles cases across different states, I would really appreciate the recommendation.

Vawa

Hi everyone, I’ve been in the VAWA process for a year, and I finally have my biometrics appointment coming up. I was wondering what happens after that and what the next steps are. My case was filed based on an LPR.
I would love to hear your stories and learn about your experiences. If anyone applied through their LPR spouse, I would really appreciate hearing how long your process took, what your journey was like, and any advice you’re willing to share. Thank you so much.

April 2025 application

After one year and five months, I finally have my biometrics appointment. Can anyone tell me what to expect afterward? Will I receive my work permit next? My case is under VAWA, and my original petition was through an LPR

I filed my VAWA petition in April 2025. My ex-husband is a lawful permanent resident (green card holder).
Has anyone else applied in the same situation? It's been over a year, and the only thing I've received is my receipt notice. I still haven't been scheduled for biometrics or received any other updates.
Someone told me that because my ex-husband is a permanent resident and not a U.S. citizen, the process may take longer because I have to wait for a visa to become available. I don't really understand what that means.
Has anyone been through the same situation? How long did your case take? I'd really appreciate hearing about your experience. Thank you!
