Look into PMHNP

If you are already considering getting an NP degree in the future, think about becoming a PMHNP. Mental Health needs keep increasing, and PMHNP is one of the best paid NP specialties, with PMHNPs in salary threads often making around 200k a year. Just something to think about. Good luck with your studies!

Where is the nursing shortage?

Long time lurker on the nursing subs. Over the past few years the number of new grad and experienced nurse openings have been steadily falling. Even without the BBB kneecapping hospital finances, the increasing acuity and cost of treating patients combined with nurses being seen as just an expense on the ledger has been putting pressure on nursing positions.

At the same time the media is telling everyone to become a nurse, just like they did with learning to code, and that turned out just great, didn't it?

When will the myth of the nursing shortage finally die?
