Why Is Human Anatomy Considered So Hard, and How Can I Prepare Before Fall?

Hey y’all! I’ll be taking Human Anatomy this fall, and I’ve heard it’s one of the hardest prerequisites.

I know there’s a ton of information to learn, but what exactly makes the course so difficult? Is it the amount of memorization, the pace of the class, the exams, or something else?

Also, how can I start preparing now? Should I go ahead and begin studying bones, organs, anatomical terms, or anything else that would give me a head start?

I’d love to hear any advice from people who have already taken it!

When should I start practicing Dosage Calc

Hey everyone,

I’m coming into WCU with practically no prerequisites completed since my first degree is in Marketing.

I’m wondering when I should start practicing dosage calculations. Is dosage calc something that’s covered and tested during the prerequisite courses, or is it mainly introduced during the core nursing courses?

I’ve attached my schedule for reference. I’d appreciate any advice from current students or recent graduates on when they started preparing and what they wish they had known beforehand.

Thanks!

Scared AF to Start Nursing School—Need Some Encouragement

I start nursing school in August, and honestly, I’m scared AF.

I don’t come from a medical background, so pretty much everything will be brand new to me. The reason I want to become a nurse is because I enjoy daily human interaction, I value job security, and I like the idea of becoming a subject matter expert when it comes to healthcare and helping people.

That said, I’m terrified of failing. I keep thinking about spending countless hours studying and still not passing because of the critical thinking aspect of nursing school. I’ve heard so many stories about how difficult nursing programs can be, and it’s definitely getting in my head.

Thankfully, I’m in a position where I won’t have to work while I’m in school, so studying can be my main priority. I know that’s a huge blessing, and I plan to take full advantage of it.

For those of you who have been through nursing school, do you have any tips, advice, or words of encouragement? Did anyone else start with zero medical background and make it through successfully?

I’d really appreciate hearing your experiences as I prepare for this next chapter.

Can someone please help me with career advice?

I am looking for some career advice and what field I should go into. I was planning on going to nursing school however I have many doubts that I’ll be able to keep up with the coursework.

I want a job that offer SECURITY in longevity something that I can make 80-100k within the next 3 to 5 years. I’m also considering HEALTHCARE administration but once again, I’m not sure how to break into that field with no experience.
