is it rude to tell someone they have an accent?

i went to a pizza place yesterday and the owner (a white guy) asked me what my nationality was. this was fine as i do come from a hispanic background. however he proceeded to comment on my accent and asked me how long i’ve been in this country (i was born here). i explained this to him and he then questioned why i had an accent and that i probably speak too much spanish. i’ve been upset ever since, i can’t shake the feeling. this has happened to be a few times before as i live in a predominantly white area. i attached a recording of myself talking
