Clinic is so loud

The place I’m getting my Spravato treatments is just an urgent care. At my last session someone was loudly playing their phone in the next room. This time there has been a baby screaming bloody murder for at least fifteen minutes. I genuinely am trembling and on the verge of tears because of how overstimulated I am. I can even hear it over my noise canceling AirPods. I like just gentle music but I have to play loud music to even begin to block it out right now. I don’t know what to do.

My first treatment is Wednesday, and I have a few questions.

So after a year of battling with insurance, I finally have my first appointment on Wednesday. I’m not sure if it’ll actually be me getting a dose or just consulting with the doctor, but regardless, I’m really excited and nervous. I have a few questions if anyone wouldn’t mind answering.

What happens if I react badly to the medicine?

I know the whole point of having to stay for 2 hours is so they can monitor me, but what happens if I actually have a bad reaction to it? Is there some sort of Narcan adjacent thing they can administer? Is it possible to react badly enough that they can’t help me?

How does it actually help?

So I get the idea of Spravato is doses of ketamine and the dreamlike state, but how does this help my mental illnesses? Is it just a reprieve from the symptoms, or does it stay in my system long enough to show relief in my day-to-day life?

Will I be left alone?

I assume someone will at least be checking in every once in a while to make sure I’m okay, but for the most part I’d really like to just sit with my music and space out. I’m someone who finds it really difficult to talk when under the influence, so I’m hoping they won’t try to converse with me.

Is it scary?

Is the “high” a good, peaceful feeling, or is it like other drugs where there’s a possibility I’ll be terrified for 2+ hours? How “out of it” do you actually feel? Like weed edibles or more psychedelic?

Thanks in advance!
