Expectations as a Moroccan in Oviedo
Coming here as my first ever European country and city, I wonder how much do you guys (young and old folks) accept foreigners specially from North African countries.
I would like to hear some opinions on the integration matter here in Asturias, which is something I’m still struggling with due several factors which start with my poor Spanish language.
If you do have some advice or tips that could help let me know please.
My experience is that when I tell someone where iam from (after a small chat about who Iam in English) , I can feel the down look in his eyes which not something pleasant to witness. Is this something common or normal ?
So What is the first thing that comes to your mind when you meet someone from Morocco ?
For some context I’m a non religious very open young man in my 30s working in the information technology industry for the past decade in my homeland and moved here for like one year and half to Oviedo, working from home Mostly (same job..)
NB: all opinions are welcome no judgements or bad answers all accepted :)
EDIT: just to be clear, by no means iam insinuating that Spanish people are racist or something like that, in general I believe it’s the opposite
