Hi Berner friends!

We are hoping to add a berner to our family this year, and have been going back and forth on whether we want a girl or a boy. Husband has always had girl dogs growing up, but I've heard that boy dogs tend to be more cuddly whereas girls are more independent, and I'd love to have a cuddle buddy.

Do we see that as true within berners? Are there any noticeable personality traits between boy vs girl berners, or do they all tend to have the same level of happy-go-lucky, cuddliness that berners are known for? Anything else we should know as far as boys vs girls go before we settle this debate?

My husband and I are so excited to be bringing home our first Berner this July! We just found out yesterday that she was born on May 9th!

We know we want to put her into puppy training as soon as we can, and Ive picked out a trainer to call tomorrow to sign up.

Our breeder recommends a raw food diet which we will be doing for a few weeks but we aren't sure we will be able to afford it consistently long term so we are hoping to do a mic of half raw food, half kibble - what kibble recommendations do you have? And raw foods?

First time dog owner tips and tricks? Husband grew up with dogs but I did not and am so so excited and nervous.

Any advice you can give at all would be amazing!
