Suggest me books to understand history of indian religions...

By witnessing how history of indian religions are still a major factor in indian politics and debates I think I should at least read about history of major religions in india.

Another reason is how history is manipulated and twisted for political benefits from both wings is creating an uncertainty and questions.

So if you know some books please help me out ...

Dear tukoba book review

Dear tukoba is a book by Vinayak hogade a comparatively young writer. The book itself was published in 2022.

The book mainly focuses on genz's and those who don't know much about tukoba . Hence writer uses imagination to explore ideas like tukoba meeting galileo , babasaheb ambedkar , shau maharaj , sant kabir etc. Through poetry.

Then there is a brief chapter named "media trial on tukoba" taken from trial of tukoba and dharmapith where he was forced to sink his gatha in indrayani . Writer blend this incident with modernity by introducing live broadcasting, tv promos and discussions etc .

At last there's a letter from writer to tukoba .

Overall a 6/10 for me because i already knew most of the part which book covers. But the writer's imagination is a strong point in book , he seamlessly blended modern things and old story in same book.

I feel like it's for the readers who know sant tukaram but not about his life story. But at the same time book feels incomplete as it only covers part of tukoba's life .

Let me know your thoughts if you have read this before .
