Library part error

New to Kicad (v10). I learn by doing so incrementally learning as I create a board I need. So far haven't touched the component creator so only working with parts in the library. Just ran across this issue though... the PCB footprint pinout for this 2x14 header is different than for the schematic symbol. I just expected it would match as the PCB footprint was one of the options for this schematic symbol.

So:

(a) I'm asking for a sanity check that I'm not doing something incorrect,

(b) what's the fix for this (other than -- of course -- redefining a PCB footprint)?

Thanks!

How do I show the name of a net?

New to Kicad (v10.0.03 / Win 11)... I'm hovering over this net (pointer is where the crosshair is in this pic) in the PCB layout editor and I tap the back-tick ( ` ) key. Nothing. I expected it would show me the name of the net at the bottom of the screen. Any idea how I can do this? Ideally it would show me the net name, highlight the trace, and even highlight all nets of that name.

Thanks.

Fast (responsive) OS version?

Been quite some time since I touched anything Pi, and recently started a project with a 3B+. Installed the 64-bit RPi OS. Why does it feel slow (takes time to load up apps, select menu options, etc) to me (once booted up) ?

Ultimately, I need a basic desktop environment, Wifi, Python (which I can install later), and gcc... is there a better (faster, more responsive) OS for this?

Thanks!

Online conversation groups

For me, the most difficult part of learning French is understanding when others speak. Some of the short stories on YT are great, but I'd love to find others at my level (perhaps A2-B1) who just want to chat about normal day-to-day things.

Are there are any Zoom or other groups that do this?

ESP32 debugging setup/tools?

I'm a relative noob to ESP32's (big on STM32's, PICs, others), and working on a relatively complex project I inherited, including an RTOS and just about ZERO documentation and ZERO comments. Unfortunately I have to sort out a number of bugs first and wondering how to do that? I see some diagnostics spewed out of the serial port on reboot, but what else can I get out of this chip to log and understand why I'm getting occasional crashes/reboots, etc.

FWIW, I'm typically the type to spew my own trace/debug data out a serial port on other MCUs, but willing to go system-level here as it's really the only way to find reasons for crashes. Thanks.
