Why SC I doesn't have a port on modern consoles ?

I just find it weird. It's the iconic game of the series, it did get a Xbox360 port in 2008. Since SC III made its comeback (which I'm really happy about), do you think a port on modern consoles for SC I is possible or does the fact it's originally a Dreamcast exclusive is a problem ?

SoulCalibur like novels ?

I really like SC's story, especially SoulBlade and SC I. Do any novels make you think of SC's characters, universe or story ?

Is Abyss different in ToS and Soul Arena modes ?

When I'm fighting him in ToS he's an okay boss. Since I'm not good, I have to try a bit but not too much in hard mode.

But in the quick play Soul Arena mode, he seems completely different. It feels like I'm fighting Olcadan. He's all about combos, throws and guard impact all the time.

Is it just me or is there really a difference between the modes ?

Something I don't understand about this rebrand debate

Whether it's here or on Twitter, there's always this argument of the black and white being annoying, the need for more color with a return to blue, red and white. And that's what I don't understand.

In NBA right now, there isn't a more bland combination of colors than blue, red and white. Except for the tye-dye, the Nets unis in the 90s looked like those of Detroit, Philly or the Clippers. We can like it or not, but at least Washington made something a bit more original with it. And it makes sense for them, as the capital city.

But for the others ? There's nothing more generic than these colors. It's more representative of a country than a city, which is weird to me, given these franchises represent their city. With that said, my favorite jerseys are the 2000's ones (except for the red uni). Way less red, white, navy blue with a touch of grey, Nets were stylish and recognizable.

As they are now. Only the Spurs have kinda the same colors. I'm not talking about the grey court, which is awful. But the black and white colors are inspired by the NYC subway and are rare in the NBA. It also goes well with a simple aesthetic that's opposed to the more fore Knicks' one.

Of course people have the right to not like it and prefer the old color scheme. I just fail to understand the "originality" about it. Even the "colorful" one. Is it really colorful if it's the same as four other teams ? There isn't another color scheme represented as much as this one.

Best CPU ?

I'm on SC III right now, I enjoyed Soul Blade and SC II CPU and well, SC III one is weird for the things a lot of you already now : feeling like CPU is reading your buttons and if it decided to kick your ass, it will kick your ass (I'm on hard difficulty, so pretty basic).

The problem is, I started training a bit with Sophitia to do her ToS, and I'm realizing that spamming verticals allow me to beat anybody... Even Abyss is damn easy with that. Does that kind of thing disappear on a harder difficulty or is it part of the famous anti-CPU moves ?

Also I wanted to know, which SC game has the best CPU for you ?

Arguments against trading down

Sometimes I see or hear arguments about how it might be better to trade down. And I understand the logic : trying to draft the BPA while projecting long term to win the title. If the BPA at 6 hasn't a convincing profile to fit that ideal (Wagler's athleticism, Brown's decision making and back injury, Acuff's defense, Flemings' lack of size and scoring volume), then trade down to get a (hopefuly) future good starter/role player while getting another assets that might be important for the future.

Even if I understand, I'm not a fan of that solution. With the change in the lottery odds, tanking isn't so much an option after 2027 and having an ok floor might even reward us with a great pick (still after 2027).

More importantly, developing a better prospect like Wagler, Brown or Acuff, even if he doesn't become a superstar (which is a serious possibility after all) could be vital in a trade for a superstar, if the opportunity rises. The AD trade to LA is a good example. Neither Ingram or Randle were considered important pieces to win a title, but they were future all stars that were worth trying to rebuild with.

When we attracted KD and Kyrie, it was with creators that offered a correct floor (DLo, Dinwiddie and LeVert). With wings that are/were good for contending teams (Bridges, DFS, Cam J), we were just awful (there are other circumstances of course, but lack of a good floor with the ball was part of it).

The free agency changed, the lottery odds changed, I'd rather try to develop a good but not elite prospects, hoping for a good surprise or just trying to be competitive, than getting the good pieces around a superstar we don't have. I'm not convinced role players and Knicks picks make the cut to trade for one, when the opportunity rises.

Curious to hear your thoughts about long term choices that involves what will happen tomorrow night.

Siegfried events in Tales of Souls ?

Hi. I made multiple runs with Siegfried, Night Terror's path included and I'm missing an event. In the event viewer, it's the one at the center, between The Roar (Siegfried facing Nightmare before the fight) and Conspiracy (Zasalamel introducing himself as the final boss). If you prefer, it's just under Astaroth event and over Night Terror's one.

I feel like I'm missing an obvious one here, but after searching on youtube and guides, I can't find it

When to move ?

Hi everyone, I'm playing SC III right now, I didn't play SC since two years ago (SoulBlade and SC II) and I struggle a bit against the AI (I'm far from an expert).

I'm not asking for anti-AI moves that I can spam to win. I'm playing Tales of Soules, primarily with Siegfried right now and I'm having a tough time when it comes to movement. I just feel I should stay still and try to hit or block when my opponent is up close and start moving again if I'm being knocked down or I knock the AI down. Since Sieg is rather slow, it's tough to move if there isn't some distance.

Should I keep moving and that's something that is learned with time and practice or should I rather stop moving when my opponent is close and try to gain some distance before moving again ?

I also use Side Hold A+B to get away sometimes
