Anyone experienced planning a Surprise Wedding?

Hello, my question is in the title. Also long post ahead, sorry.

For context, my partner and I have been married for 5 years now. We got married in 2021, kasagsagan ng pandemic, so we only got a civil wedding officiated by the mayor of our hometown. Medyo madalian lang din because we know that at some point in the future, I will have an opportunity to move abroad.

Fast forward 2023 and I got an opportunity to migrate. After a few months, I was able to bring her along with me in a partner visa.

Now, we always yearn for a wedding ceremony and party. We never had memorable pictures. We never had the opportunity to celebrate with friends and family too kasi covid time nun. And recently, we got to talking about planning a church wedding.

But here's the thing, my wife gets easily overwhelmed when it comes to planning and deciding things. I get the feeling that she doesn't want to burden of deciding who to invite, also because she has a complicated family.

Funny story: we are recently rewatching Modern Family, a TV series close to our heart. There was an episode when the families are in Hawaii and Phil planned a surprise wedding for Claire because they didn't have the wedding they wanted during their first wedding (kinda like our situation with COVID). So I got an idea to also do a Surprise Wedding to not stress her out with the planning. I am willing to plan everything myself, it's not going to be an over-the-top wedding anyway. We just want to celebrate with friends and family.

Here's my plan:
- We go on vacation in PH, somewhere with a good beach at sunset.
- Unbeknownst to my wife, our friends and family will also gather in the vacation resort
- A pastor, who is our friend from high school, will officiate (para di na namin kailangan mag-seminar with the catholic church, which will ruin the surprise)
- I'll bring her at sunset to where everyone will gather, and we get married there
- reception/ party tbd 😂

What do you think? Is this plan feasible? Has anyone tried something like this before? Do you know a wedding planner/ coordinator that has experience in this type of wedding planning? I'm really curious what members of this community thinks.
