Is anyone a member of the Historical Novel Society?
Are any writers here a member of the HNS? I just want to know if it's worth the membership if you can't attend all the conferences.

Were Waffen-SS units on the frontlines aware of the existence of death camps (not work camps) before the war ended?
Particularly ones who were fighting on the Eastern Front, but did not enter places like Poland where the camps were situated. And yes I am aware they also engaged in mass murder through mass shootings with the Einsatzgruppen
