Investing long term
Hi, guys. I hope everyone is doing great. I'm 25 years old and really new to investing. Still learning and just want to clarify some things and I hope you guys can help me.
I am reading the book The Simple Path to Wealth by J Collins. I try to "transfer" his advice and strategies dito satin sa PH.
Ify understanding is right, VTSAX is just the same as VTI (just ETF) and we could use MP2 as alternative to bonds. And this is the long term game plan that I currently have. I do want to include PH REITs in the mix for my portfolio but I'm focusing on creating the habit now and hust start it.
That said, with further research on my own, I discovered the Irish-domeciled ETFs (VUAA, VWRA, etc) and how it is better for us, non-US residents, rather than buying US-domeciled ETFs. Problem lang is it is only accessible via IBKR, which is banned in the PH (but yes I know, VPN is the key). I'm just not sure if using IBKR is good for long term (like decades) in the PH given that it is banned. Are there also cases na na-tag as AMLA mga withdrawals from IBKR? Planning to use Wise to fund it btw.
Question is, is the Irish-domeciled ETFs really the better choice for us? Is it better long term than buying VOO, QQQM, etc in GoTrade (I do have doubts using GoTrade, given na baka i-ban din siya, PH gov sucks)?
What are your thoughts guys? Any inputs would greatly be appreciated. Again, I'm still learning and I want to fully understand everything. I'm all ears!
Thanks!
