Arcalyst question: What am I doing wrong???
I have been taking Arcalyst for nearly two years now and in the last month I have had TWO occurrences of “floaters” inside of my reconstituted medicine (both contaminated vials were in different shipments, so not the same batch). They look like tiny pieces of paper or rubber, almost like an eraser shaving and they somehow make it into my final syringe ready for injecting.
Is this the rubber that got cored out of the vial’s stopper when I inserted the needle to draw it up? Has anyone ever had this happen to them? What should I do??
The Arcalyst support team at Kiniksa just files an incident report and asks my pharmacy to get me a new one. They have no advice for me on how to prevent this.
Obviously this medicine is crazy expensive and I worry if I keep requesting new ones due to “user error” insurance may begin to deny it. Any help is appreciated!
