Housing Dilemma

Hi guys!

I’m an international student starting my studies at Aarhus University this upcoming semester.

Now because of some complications, I’m staying at an AirBnB in September, and will be ready to move into a place 1st October.

I was just offered an apartment in Hinnerup from October.
I’ve checked it out, and it’s quite far from the university. That alone isn’t so bad, but I also noticed there isn’t really a gym anywhere near, or a big supermarket.
The commute to the university is about an hour by bike, and about 45 minutes to an hour by bus, so I would probably need to get a commuter’s pass on Rejsebillet.

Because I’d only move in in October, I feel like I would get another offer sometime in September that might be better.
However, I’ve been told it’s a bold move to turn down an offer, so I’m quite scared to do that.

Also, as I understand, I could technically live in Hinnerup for a month and find a new apartment from November, although studenthousingaarhus (the website) isn’t entirely clear on this topic (they say you can still get offers when you’ve been given housing, but also if you cancel after you’ve been given a lease, your application will be deleted.) so I’m not sure how that works exactly.

I’m also not sure if it’s kind of a red flag with danish authorities (when I go get my residence permit or my CPR number) if I don’t have a fix place to stay from October.

All in all, I’m just kind of torn about what to do, any advice would be appreciated.

Thank you all in advance!!
