Update!

I just wanted to thank you all for your advice on my post 9 days ago! I hit the gym every day that it has been open since and have gotten hour walks in everyday as well. Today the gym is closed, so I did yoga then rode my bike there to see the route I will take instead of driving there daily.

Been consistent on CICO and whole food plant based only as well!

This time I’m sticking to it!

Gen X Hive Mind Help Needed!

Hey all! I’m taking a couple hits over the past few days and realize that it is now or never to get myself in shape again. I turned 60 in March and my doctor wants to put me on a statin in December if I don’t exercise and cut my cholesterol. I’m five 9 1/2 and 220 pounds. I eat a predominantly plant-based diet, no alcohol, and have a pretty good understanding of exercises.

I have never ever posted a pic of myself without my shirt on and hate how I look. But more importantly, I need to get in shape for my health because regardless of how I feel about my body, my wife and kids love me. I won’t even go to the beach or a pool shirtless, but it is time to face the music.

I have access to a gym at a university, a pool, hot yoga, Apple fitness workouts, a bicycle, and I’m putting a punching bag up in my garage. I also walk dogs for a shelter 2-4 hours a week.

What I need is a plan that I can stick with to hit my health goals.
