Do you get your car serviced at the dealership or by a mechanic shop locally?
I have been getting my car serviced at a dealership since I bought it. But lately they have been racking up fees and charging a lot for parts. I had a check engine light on my Jetta and it was due to an issue with the oil pressure valve. I got an OBD 2 device to diagnose it. But the dealership said they will charge me a 200$ fee to diagnose it by a technician. Is that usual even if you go outside? Wanted to check how others get your car serviced.
Edit: Adding the OBD2 code P164E (2019 VW Jetta)
