Have we talked about this yet?

For context, I have ARFID and mac and cheese is my longest safest food group of all. It is my go-to fall back when I've had a stressful day and I can't even think about food. I love this subreddit because you guys post the best reviews with detailed notes on texture and flavor so I know what to expect when trying a new box.

Curry is also a semi-safe food for me depending on where it's from and what it looks like. My husband got me to try it one time when we were on a night out and I had a few drinks so I was more open to trying things. Butter chicken and chicken tikka masala have become favorites of mine. We drive over an hour to our nearest Indian restaurant a few times a year.

When I saw this in Walmart, my eyes lit up. Guys, this stuff is spectacular. It's almost curry enough that it's not quite mac and cheese, but it's also cheesy enough that it's not quite curry sauce either. It's almost a third, super tasty thing in a category of its own.

The noodles are the super wide-open elbows with the ribs on the outside so they hold the sauce nicely and have a nice bite.

The cheese is nice and sharp and the seasoning packs so much yummy curry flavor. I will say it is a bit gritty texture-wise with all the seasoning but I get past that because the flavor is exceptional.

10/10, highly recommend.

Menstrual Tracking

Not to hop on the bandwagon of people hating the Google Health app, but while I've been lucky enough to not have the sleep tracking issues it seems a lot of you have had, I absolutely hate what they've done to the menstrual tracking portion.

I loved the way the FitBit app displayed the stages of my menstrual cycle. It told me what days I'd be in what phase and it allowed me to tailor my workouts to my energy and stamina levels based on where my hormones would be.

I do like the change of having you check in every day with your symptoms during the period portion of your menstrual cycle. I wish it would send me a notification each day to remind me to do that so I don't open the app at the end of the month when I'm planning my next month's workouts and find that I only have a 2 day period tracked.

I've seen a lot of you suggest leaving a negative review in the app store so they will be more likely to change things and I think that's what I will do.

Does anyone else have any comments on the menstrual tracking? I'd love the include them in my review as well. Thank you!

What ice cream maker do you use and why do you like it?

The little two quart dinky plastic thing I got from walmart a decade ago and just pulled out of the attic just isn't cutting it. It doesn't get cold enough to actually freeze the ice cream because the ice chamber is oblong so there's only space for ice on two sides of the freezing chamber rather than the full 360. That and the little motor overheats constantly. All that to say, my tools are holding me back and I'd like to upgrade, but I'd like to buy the best ice cream maker for my needs.

What maker do you use and what do you like about it? What do you hate about it?

Been sitting on a super good reference!

I have declared this summer as the summer of ice cream and I am making a different recipe evey other week for my family. It's been nice dusting off the decade old, mostly unused little cheap plastic ice cream maker we had in the attic and just doing stuff with it. My uncle bought this for me probably a decade ago, and I haven't done more than thumb through it until now, since my life has been decidedly lacking in homemade ice cream for the last several years.

This book is actually an extremely informative reference and is supremely beginner-friendly. It gives you a launching point with three solid base recipes to make your own, and then also offeres a large repertoire of solid recipes for classic ice cream flavors. It talks about the importance of butterfat and gives a reference guide for fat percentages on dairy products found in the grocery store. It talks about the importance of choosing the right sweeteners and the importance and chemical function of eggs in your ice cream base.

I will be making the butter pecan recipe from in here this weekend and will share if it goes well!

Officially down 25lbs

It's taken a while 5 months but I'm also doing body recomp so there was surely some muscle growth slowing down the drop on the scale.

Been putting on clothes I've worn for years lately and realising that they're kind of hanging off of me now. Had to go thrift some new shorts in a jiffy for the warm weather that's rolled in. Losing 4 inches in your waist really changes the way things fit.

I'm currently lounging in a pair of jeans that used to be so tight on me I could hardle sit down. If I pull them tight to my waist, I have an extra two inches there, too.

But most importantly, I feel so good! Been going on lots of walks in the beautiful weather and I look forward to yoga, rowing, and pilates when I used to force myself to do a workout. If I go a few days without moving my body I feel an itch to do so, which I never felt before.

Now to just drop the other 19.8 lbs left to my goal weight!

My husband and I recieved notice today that our I-130 was approved and it says to submit a copy of form I-485 with a copy of our approval notice. We submitted I-485 at the same time as our I-130. I can't get through to a person at USCIS to ask what we need to do. Does anybody know what we're supposed to do?
