New temperate terrarium for ferns and moss

Built this out of a free Ikea Rudsta tall, did the usual pond foam background, It has an egg crate, false bottom, a drain, and an HVAC system made with a computer fan. Will give credit to many creators on YouTube but especially tangled earth for their thoughtful and thorough videos.

Current humidity is 90, lights are ac ionbeam s11

Best fern substrate for converted Ikea Cabinet

I have done tons of research for my Rudsta tall Ikea Cabinet conversion which will be planted with ferns and mosses, maybe a creeping fig or begonia. So much research that I am now a little lost.

For the substrate in the bottom, where I plan to have springtails and a maidenhair fern - I have a 2" false bottom built out of egg crate with fiberglass screen and a bulkhead drain if needed.

I have a variety of stuffs to chose from

Sphagnum moss, coconut husk fiber, cleaned beach sand, medium size orchid bark, horticulture charcoal , worm castings.

AI is telling me no sand and minimal worm castings. Various Reddit posts are unclear to me for this particular setup.

What say the fern keepers out there?

Tabletop waterfall with moss and carniverous plants

First attempt, converted this 3 gallon beta column into a self watering system for carnivorous plants.. I reused the aquarium led and water pump. I tried to get the old water calcium stains off the rim area and it's better than it was but they are still there.

Hoping these little sundews catch the many gnats flying about.
