Possibly Have CHS

Hello! I posted in another thread but I’m desperate for answers/opinions and want to try here, too. I’m also mostly just expressing my symptoms, because I’m at what feels like an impasse and I’m so frustrated and upset.

I am currently taking a doctor directed T-break to see if I have CHS. I keep hearing different amounts of time that I need to stop before I officially know if I have it. One source says 14 days, my doctor wants 4-6 weeks, another source has said 3 months.

I am praying I don’t have CHS, as weed is the medicine that helps me the most with my CPTSD and chronic pain. I only started smoking a few years ago as a last ditch treatment effort. I’m on day three of not smoking, and am still retching, bloated as all get out, and having tons of hot flashes (which I had before, too).

I began vomiting a little over two months ago and have not stopped until I spent some time in the hospital. During this stay, they found hiatal hernia which could be causing the vomiting. They also saw that my stomach is “chronically inactively inflamed”. The GI team brought up CHS, but ruled it out. My family doctor wants to consider it further.

My doctors and I are also considering that I have POTS or some other heart condition with comorbid with gastro-related issues. I’m curious if anyone else with confirmed CHS can share if they have had heart issues, or if anyone thinks that might mean I have an underlying issue that is NOT CHS. My heart beats pretty fast (tachycardia), I get lightheaded, dizzy. Chest pain. I’m currently on a heart monitor for testing.

I just am desperate at this point for answers, it’s been two months of chronic vomiting and testing. I am not sleeping. I don’t have much abdominal pain at all, other than some light soreness when I’ve eaten. I am grateful for any comments, because my doctors don’t seem to know anything about it whatsoever and I would love to talk to people who do know about it.

I’m not sure if I have CHS, but I’m “testing” for it.

Hi! I am currently taking a T-break to see if I have CHS. I am not sure how long I am supposed to stop for, as I continue to read different information.

My doctors and I are also considering that I have POTS or some other heart condition with comorbid with gastro-related issues. I’m curious if anyone else with confirmed CHS can share if they have had heart issues, or if anyone thinks that might mean I have an underlying issue that is NOT CHS. I’m on day three of not smoking, and am still retching, bloated as all get out, and having tons of hot flashes (which I had before, too).

I did have to spend time in the hospital because I was malnourished and dehydrated. I’ve lost 14 lbs so far, and put some back on. I was throwing up 20+ times a day at most points, and my body stopped digesting food. Did anyone else experience an inability to digest food?

I had scopes performed and they found that my stomach lining is chronically inflamed, to my knowledge this is NOT a symptom of CHS.

I just am desperate at this point for answers, it’s been two months of chronic vomiting and testing. I am not sleeping. I don’t have much abdominal pain at all, other than sometimes a sharp pain where my digestive track is. They did find a hiatal hernia in my esophagus, which could be reason I have been throwing up so much.

I would just love thoughts from a community of people who know about CHS, because my doctors don’t seem to know anything about it whatsoever.
